Winter Soldier #10 Review

Bucky just can't catch a break. Things keep getting worse for the poor guy and Winter Soldier #10 solidifies that. Black Widow is still brainwashed, and it looks like there may be no coming back. She's killed some very close friends. It's emotional, engaging, action-packed stuff. It's the kind of thing that will be sorely missing when Ed Brubaker leaves the Marvel Universe.

Brubaker keeps the stakes high. Winter Soldier has been a fantastic series since day one, but the recent story arc is really firing on all cylinders. This is Bucky's corner of the Marvel Universe, and it's a dark place filled with betrayal, murder and violence. The dialogue is snappy, the story is great and the characters are wonderfully realized. More people should be reading Winter Soldier.

Butch Guice steps in on pencils this issue. His layouts are fantastic, using a bending, disorienting layout for the flashbacks. It works well, giving a sense of chaos as the Black Widow pummels her way to freedom. It's not perfect -- Steve Rodgers looks a little off, for instance – but it's a damn fine looking issue. It's also worth noting that Marvel has started listing Bettie Breitweiser as providing “Color Art” instead of being credited as a colorist. I couldn't agree more, because what Breitweiser does is absolutely stunning. It is art and it's simply beautiful.

Benjamin has a crush on Rashida Jones. There, it's out in the open. Your move, Jones. Follow Benjamin on Twitter, or find him on IGN.

First Trailer for Transporter: The Series

It's been a tough road behind-the-scenes for the Transporter TV series, including a delay after star Chris Vance (Prison Break) had an on set injury and at least two different overhauls with the creative team. But with production finally wrapping up on Cinemax's 12-episode order, a trailer for the show has surfaced, which you can check out below.
