Colin Firth Joins The Secret Service

Oscar winner Colin Firth has reportedly been cast in the lead role of Matthew Vaughn's The Secret Service, based on the espionage comic by Mark Millar.

According to Latino-Review, Firth will play Uncle Jack, an MI6 super spy who takes his slacker nephew Gary under his wing in hopes of turning the young man's life around. As Vaughn describes it, "This is James Bond meets My Fair Lady."

Vaughn and Jane Goldman wrote the script, which closely follows the recently completed comic book. Production is slated for August, with a release date set for November 14, 2014.
