Vine Video Sharing App Coming to Android 'Soon'

Since January of this year, iOS users have enjoyed filming, editing, and uploading 6-second videos through Twitter's Vine app, and it shouldn't be long before Android owners get the chance to share their own mini-films as well. In speaking with The Verge, Vine revealed that an Android version of the video sharing app was coming to the Google Play store "soon," although there were no specifics beyond that. An upgrade to the iPhone and iPad app is currently awaiting final approval from Apple, which will add the ability to tag friends in videos.

Vine is currently the top ranked free app in Apple's App Store, and you may have seen these short clips embedded into your friends' tweets over the past couple of months. Unlike uploading photos through Twitter, Vine is a standalone service that can work natively within the popular microblogging platform.

Are you excited about the inclusion of Vine in the Google Play store? Let us know in the comments below.
