The Lego Movie isn't the only LEGO movie in town! Charlie Bean, who directed Tron: Uprising for Disney's XD, is now set to direct Warner Bros.' upcoming Ninjago movie.
Set in the unique world of Ninjago, the franchise centers on ninjas, samurai, and sensei battling dragons, skeleton armies, snake men and Lord Gagmadon, "an evil warlord banished to an underworld who now seeks to return to power." In addition to Warners' upcoming movie, Ninjago also spawned an animated TV series on Cartoon Network.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, brothers Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman, who helped write the story for The Lego Movie, will also write Ninjago. Meanwhile, The Lego Movie directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord will produce the film, along with Warners-based producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee. LEGO's Jill Wilfert and WB's Courtenay Valenti will executive produce.
Ninjago marks the feature directorial debut for Bean, who was also a layout artist, storyboard artist and writer for animated shows such as Samurai Jack, Dexter's Laboratory and The Powerpuff Girls.
