Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia have been tapped to write the screenplay for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon movie, which Michael Bay is producing for Ubisoft and Warner Bros. Bay could also potentially direct after he finishes Transformers: Age of Extinction.
The game series, which launched in 2001, centers on a fictional U.S. Army Special Forces team that essentially operates as the President's private army. More than 24 million Ghost Recon games have been sold over the course of its nine-title history.
Federman and Scaia are currently wrapping up the latest draft of New Line's Y: The Last Man adaptation, and they also penned Sony's upcoming Zorro reboot. Before that, they were supervising producers on ABC's Charlie’s Angels TV show and writers on FOX's Human Target.
