Shawn Ryan doesn’t appear to believe in rest.
The Shield creator is busy wrapping production on Last Resort (which, sadly, did not receive a back order from ABC) and developing a Beverly Hills Cop pilot with Eddie Murphy for CBS.
Deadline now reports that Ryan is also developing Badlands, a mining town drama, for HBO. Ron Fitzgerald, Last Resort co-executive producer, is penning the script based on a story he created with Rolin Jones. The series follows a struggling community in modern day Tar River, Wyoming, a mining town that has been hit especially hard by the current economic downturn.
As of August the prolific writer/producer was also working on a way to develop a movie to wrap-up the FX series Terriers (a show which IGN championed).
