Forza Motorsport 5 Runs at Native 1080p; Ryse Does Not

Microsoft has announced that while Forza Motorsport 5 will run at native 1080p on Xbox One, Ryse: Son of Rome will not.

In a series of tweets, the company's chief of staff for Devices and Studios Aaron Greenberg revealed that Ryse will run at native 900p, though will be upscaled by the console.

@deaconblade Update from team, Forza 5 is native @1080p, Ryse is native @900p, but Xbox One upscales all titles to 1080p & they look amazing

When the Xbox 360 launched back in 2005, Microsoft aimed to get all its first-party titles running at 720p, though some like Perfect Dark Zero and Project Gotham Racing 3 failed to manage this.

Thanks to the upscaling abilities of the Xbox One, it's unlikely that this will have a particularly noticeable effect on the final image quality of Ryse when it releases. When all's said and done, everything we've seen so far suggests it'll be a beautiful game, but we'll have to wait until the game releases alongside the console on November 22 to be sure.

The Xbox One is available for pre-order/reserve now at online retailers in multiple territories.
