Obsidian Entertainment has released a new Kickstarter update video for Project Eternity, showing the game's exterior environments in action for the first time.
In the video, which you can check out below, there's a particular focus on the likes of water and trees, while the day and night cycle get explored along with dynamic lighting.
When Project Eternity was successfully funded back in October, it became the most successful video game Kickstarter of all time, ending with yesterday with $3,986,929 in all, beating out the$3.3 million earned by Double Fine Adventure and $2.7 million for Wasteland 2.
While this is the only project Obsidian is currently official working on, the studio has been vocal about a number of other projects it'd be interested in pursuing lately. Back in February, the company's CEO mused about the possibility of developing a sequel to its 2010 title Fallout: New Vegas, stating that he'd like to see it take place somewhere like LA.
What's more interesting though, given recent events, he also revealed he was keen to pitch LucasArts with a new Star Wars game set between Episodes III and IV, with the writer of KOTOR 2 supposedly already on board. With the demise of LucasArts last week, it's unclear if the pitch will still be happening, though as the company has now moved to a "licensing model", there's an argument that this could increase the chances of a new game happening.
What do you think? Are you enamoured with your first glimpse of Project Eternity, or would you rather see the company get a move on with one of the other projects it's teased? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
