PlayStation 4 to Support Four Controllers at Once

The PlayStation 4 will support four controllers at once, SCE Worldwide Studios chief Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed. Yoshida revealed the fact in a response to a question posed to him on Twitter.

The PS3 supported seven controllers, although support for seven controllers seemed generally limited to sports games like the FIFA series (although Rock Band 3 also catered for seven controllers locally, adding support for a keyboard peripheral and two additional back-up singers).

The news follows Microsoft’s confirmation that the Xbox One will support up to eight wireless controllers simultaneously.
