New Game from Driver Dev Reportedly Called The Crew

A new rumor suggests that Ubisoft will announce a new game called The Crew at E3. According to Examiner, Ubisoft is prepping a racing title for next-gen consoles at its Reflections studio, described as a "realistic title, possibly being positioned against Forza and Gran Turismo.”

The title The Crew also appears on the LinkedIn resume of a Ubisoft Bucharest cinematic lead, who notes that the game is “NextGen.”

Reflections previously worked on the Driver franchise and has most recently been assisting with Watch Dogs. The studio confirmed it will announce a new title at E3 earlier this month, and in an earnings call, Ubisoft said it has two AAA games coming, including a new entry in a big franchise and a completely new brand.

In a statement today, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot discussed the company’s E3 line-up, noting “this is a pivotal moment for the video game industry, and E3 is the opportunity for us to share our vision for the future. We have many incredible games in development, and we’re especially excited to share more on our next-gen titles, which will deliver more connected, immersive and interactive experiences to our fans.”

We reached out to Ubisoft about The Crew but a representative simply told us the company doesn’t comment on rumors or speculation.

If The Crew is going to be unveiled at E3, expect it to be during Ubisoft’s E3 2013 press conference on Monday, June 10th at 3:00 p.m. Pacific.
