Final Fantasy XIV PS3 Can be Upgraded to PS4 For Free

Square Enix has announced anyone who purchases Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on PlayStation 3 won't have to repurchase the game for use on PlayStation 4.

All character data will be carried over, meaning you'll be able to continue with all the progress you've made so far on the new platform when the game officially launches for PlayStation 4 next year.

Additionally, the company has announced beta testing for the PS4 version of the game will commence on February 22, 2014.

Last week, the game's director Naoki Yoshida confirmed that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will support remote play on Vita, so you'll be able to play the MMO on the handheld if you have a PS4.
