More Episodes of Arrested Development Ordered

Season 4 of Arrested Development will consist of more episodes than originally planned thanks to Netflix ordering more instalments of the cult comedy.

According to Deadline, while the new series of Mitch Hurwitz's show was meant to be comprised of just 10 episodes, this has now been increased to between 12 and 15.

Hurwitz supposedly shot more material than planned when filming the original 10 episodes, and came up with ideals for additional scenes and storylines in case such a scenario arose. With filming having wrapped after Thanksgiving however, the actors are now mostly tied up with other projects. As a result, production has been paused so Hurwitz can take stock of what footage he already has and figure out the best way to seamlessly integrate new arcs into the existing episodes.

Filming is currently planned to resume in January, which means the show is mercifully still on track for its proposed spring premiere.
