Mattel has just announced that a new toy line based on Adam West's 1960s Batman TV show will be made available in 2013.
The news comes from the latest issue of License! Global (via http://ign.com/Coming Soon), which states, "The 1960s Classic Batman TV Series line, which will be released next year, is based on the original television series starring Adam West and Burt Ward."
Due to legal complications between 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros., Batman, which originally aired all three seasons on ABC, was never released on DVD. However, this new toy line may be a sign of that finally happening, perhaps as early as next year.
License! also revealed that Mattel will continue its DC Super Friends line, introduce a new line based on Beware the Batman in 2014, "refresh" DC's adult collector line and continue their Evergreen Batman figures in a new line called Power Attack. Additionally, a tie-in line for this summer's Man of Steel will also be released.
