Gearbox isn't done with Pandora yet. The recently announced Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is only the third of four planned pieces of DLC for the loot-based shooter, and 2K wants to continue to support the game even afterwards.
Speaking with IGN in a recent demo to show off Big Game Hunt, a 2K representative said that Borderlands 2 is already more successful than the original, with higher attach rates for DLC. Since fans have used their dollars to support Borderlands 2, 2K wants to continue to support the title so long as fans show interest. It was hinted that this could include new characters, and almost definitely more DLC after the first season is over sometime in 2013.
Additionally, 2K confirmed that Borderlands 2 will have the current level 50 cap raised sometime in the first quarter of next year. While Gearbox is still exploring whether they want to do it as part of DLC number four or as a separate download, we were assured that it's being developed in such a way that you'll want to play through the entirety of the game again.
