New Super Mario Bros. 2 Gets Impossible DLC Pack

Nintendo has announced the fourth and final bit of DLC for New Super Mario Bros. 2 - and it’s possibly the best yet. Available December 20, the DLC consists of two new Coin Rush packs, each of which has an asking price of $2.50 and features three new levels to race through. You can take a look at these new packs in the video below.

The first Coin Rush pack is called the Mystery Adventures Pack, and has been assigned a three out of five star difficulty rating. This pack is all about searching for hidden paths to try and rack up as many coins as humanly possible, and from the looks of the trailer, these levels get quit creative when it comes to hiding new routes.

The final pack is called the Impossible Pack, and it features the highest difficulty rating yet. In fact, it’s the only Coin Rush pack to go beyond the standard five star difficulty rating, being ranked as a “DANGER!” level instead. There are no coins or power-ups in this level, so the number of coins you get solely amounts to how much time you have left at the end of each level.

I had the chance to try out the first level of the Impossible pack at a recent demo, and suffice to say it lives up to its name. The first level alone has you swimming through a sea of angry Cheep-Cheeps and jumping on small platforms while dodging birds and Spineys. It’s intense, but I’m absolutely dying to get back to and conquer those punishing levels.

If you do decide to invest in the Impossible Pack, word to the wise: don’t throw your 3DS. You will regret it.

Do you think you have what it takes to master the Impossible Pack? Or do you like the sound of a Magical Mystery Tour in the Mushroom Kingdom better? Let us know in the comments below!
