Space Hulk Headed to PC, Mac, iOS

Games Workshop has announced a new Space Hulk game for 2013. Based on the Games Workshop board game of the same name, Space Hulk will be developed by Full Control and will be available on PC, Mac and iOS.

According to a blog post on Games Workshop’s official site, Space Hulk will be “a turn-based game that emulates the look and feel of the board game, but with full 3D animation.” Players will take control of a strike force of Blood Angels Terminators “as they make their way through the close confines of the Space Hulk - Sin of Damnation.”

Games Workshop explains that “Genestealers lurk menacingly while the Terminators use their action points, bolter rounds tear down corridors in overwatch cut-scenes and whole sections of corridor are set alight as the heavy flamer hoses them down. There's a lot of exciting features to this game, which will be coming out next year on PC, Mac and iOS.”

The following features are described on Space Hulk's official site:

  • Blood Angel Terminator squad
  • Fearsome Genestealers with challenging AI
  • Thematic 3D environment
  • Single-player campaign based on the "Sin of Damnation" Hulk
  • New co-op multiplayer levels against the Genestealer AI
  • Multiplayer head-to-head recreating the board game experience against a friend
  • Cross-platform multiplayer between PC, Mac and iOS
  • Level editor with ability to share creations
  • Game expansions in the future as DLC

Space Hulk originally hit PC and Amiga in 1993. A second game, Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels, was released PlayStation, Saturn, 3DO and PC in 1996.
