Wang Xuequi to Play New Villain in Iron Man 3

In collaboration with its Chinese distributor DMG Entertainment, Iron Man 3's production team has spent the past week prepping for its Beijing shoot, which began earlier today.

Deadline reports that Chinese actor Wang Xuequi has joined the cast as a new villain called Dr. Wu. The news comes after a recent cycle of rumors suggesting that the actor would play Chen Lu, aka Radioactive Man, a part that was originally thought to be Andy Lau's (he backed out a few months ago). Xuequi's role, meanwhile, is said to be "not a huge part."

The China shoot is only comprised of several scenes, but Marvel still intends to file the film as a co-production.

Iron Man 3 opens May 3, 2013.
