Mel Gibson’s Brother Wants to be Mad Max

If Avalanche is still in the market for a new voice for Mad Max, there’s a Gibson interested. It’s not Mel, though; it’s his brother, Donal.

Overnight Ausgamers was contacted by Australian director Jamie Blanks (helmer of 1998 slasher Urban Legend) and Donal Gibson, suggesting Gibson as the man to assume the voice role for Mad Max in Avalanche’s upcoming game. They also sent through a brief demo reel to the site, which you can hear here.

Donal Gibson, younger brother of Mel, is also an actor and has had minor roles in several of his older brother’s films. He’s also done a small amount of voice acting (including a brief appearance as Captain Boomerang in Justice League Unlimited) and assumed the role of Captain John Smith in Disney’s Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World (a role that was played by his brother Mel in the original film).

Gibson is in no way associated with the project at this stage but he certainly sounds like he wants in. What’s your verdict? Can Mel’s little brother pull off a convincingly ocker Mad Max? Is this the weirdest thing you've heard today? Let us know.
