Benedict Cumberbatch Linked with Star Wars Episode VII

Benedict Cumberbatch is being strongly linked with a role in Star Wars: Episode VII.

According to the site Film Chronicles, the British actor will soon be confirmed as a member of J.J. Abrams' cast. No sources are cited, and the link is perhaps unsurprising given the pair recently worked together on Star Trek Into Darkness.

This is the latest in a recent flurry of casting rumours surrounding the project, with Rachel Hurd-Wood and Alex Pettyfer both being linked with roles in the last week. It's even been suggested the Emperor (Ian McDiarmid) could appear in the eagerly-anticipated sequel.

Would you welcome another exile from the Star Trek universe into that galaxy far, far away? Who could Cumberbatch play in the sequels? Let us know your thoughts, as always, in the comments below.
