Freddie Prinze Jr., David Oyelowo in Talks for Star Wars Rebels

We've heard our fair share of Star Wars: Episode VII casting news over the last couple months, but what about Disney/Lucasfilm's planned animated series Star Wars Rebels?

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Freddie Prinze Jr. (Scooby Doo, Mass Effect 3), David Oyelowo (The Butler, Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Steve Blum (The Legend of Korra, Cowboy Bebop), Vanessa Marshall (The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy) and Taylor Gray (Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures) are currently in talks to join the show's voice cast.

Little is yet known about Star Wars Rebels, including who the main characters are, other than it takes place between the two current Star Wars trilogies, set after the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and before the original Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past and a writer on one of the upcoming standalone Star Wars movies), Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and Greg Weisman (The Spectacular Spider-Man, Young Justice) are executive producing the project.

Star Wars Rebels is targeting a fall 2014 debut on Disney XD.
