Evil Dead Scares Up Big Debut at the Box Office

Sony's remake of Evil Dead did scary business at the weekend box office, debuting in first place with $26 million. Universal's Jurassic Park 3D bowed in fourth place with $18.2 million.

Holdovers G.I. Joe: Retaliation and The Croods both performed strongly this weekend to finish in second and third place, respectively. According to Box Office Mojo, G.I. Joe: Retaliation has now grossed over $230 million worldwide. The Croods has grossed over $330 million worldwide, making it only the second film this year to pass $300 million globally.
