Homeland's Damian Lewis on Playing James Bond

We've had a blond Bond so why not a ginger one?

During a recent interview, Homeland star Damian Lewis said he'd love to be the silver screen's next 007.

The British native told Esquire Magazine, "Yes, I think it would be wonderful. Daniel [Craig] is doing an amazing job and he’ll continue to do it for a bit. But if it ever comes to that, I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it."

Lewis' age would probably rule him out of succeeding Craig in the role. As MI6 points out, Lewis will be 47 by the time Craig's Bond contract runs out around 2017.

Homeland Season 3 premieres on September 29 on Showtime.
