Arbitrator: Nintendo Has No Right to WiiU.com

Did you know that WiiU.com doesn’t belong to Nintendo? It’s true. The WHOIS for the site shows a group in Massachusetts as the owner, which is why Nintendo filed a suit at the World Intellectual Property Organization to try and get it back.

As detailed on Fusible, WIPO has denied the complaint. WiiU.com “will stay with its current owner,” according to the site. That owner isn’t affiliated with Nintendo. Interestingly, the domain was first secured in 2004.

Fusible also points out that neither XboxOne.com nor PlayStation4.com are owned by Microsoft and Sony, respectively. Microsoft is currently chasing after the former domain, while Sony hasn’t yet filed a complaint about the latter.
