Game of Thrones: Sherlock Actor to Season 4

EW.com is reporting that a certain Holmes from BBC's Sherlock is headed to Westeros for the fourth season of HBO Game of Thrones.

No, not Sherlock Holmes himself - actor Benedict Cumberbatch - but rather actor/writer/producer Mark Gatiss, who plays Sherlock's disapproving governmental older brother, Mycroft.

Doctor Who fans may also know Gatiss from multiple roles on the long-running BBC sci-fi series, as well as having written episodes of the series along with Doctor Who novels.

Exactly who Gatiss is playing on Game of Thrones is still a mystery. Although, with Season 4 still mostly being a continuation of George R. R. Martin's third Ice and Fire book, A Storm of Swords, there aren't that many big names coming next year. The most eagerly anticipated was Oberyn Martell - aka The Red Viper - but that role's now been filled by Pedro Pascal. And with a Chilean actor being cast as a denizen from Dorne, it's probably a good guess that the very English Gatiss won't be from Dorne.

One possibility is that Gatiss could play (*possible spoiler!*) Mace Tyrell, Margaery's father and Lord of Highgarden and Warden of the South.

What do you guys think?
