Newly discovered domain registrations for something called Fighter Within may have spoiled the surprise Ubisoft had planned to announce at Gamescom.
The domain Fighter-Within.com was registered through GoDaddy yesterday, while FighterWithinGame.com was registered back in June, online records discovered by Fusible reveal.
Although the registrant information on both domains is hidden, the more recently registered one has its name servers pointed to Ubisoft.com. When visited, both addresses currently direct to a section of Ubisoft's website that is home to nothing more than a bare-bones "coming soon" page, but the fact that this even exists on Ubisoft's servers reinforces that this is a Ubisoft game.
Ubisoft has not yet acknowledged the existence of Fighter Within. It did announce earlier this month that a "new next-gen IP currently in development" would be detailed during Gamescom, taking place August 21-25 in Cologne, Germany. No other information was provided.
IGN has contacted Ubisoft for comment and will update with any response we receive.
