Marvel and Disney had an odd tease going into Disney's D23 convention this weekend - telling fans to ask for "something weird" at the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts pavilion.
So today at D23, I did just that, asking a friendly Disney cast member if she would "Give me something weird." In response, I was handed a small poster, which you can see below.
The poster has the Marvel AR logo, so I clicked on it with the Marvel AR app. That brought up a very short video, which said more information would be coming in September on a new project from Marvel and Disney's Imagineers. The video did use the term comic book, but the involvement of Imagineering is what really raises questions. This poster was pointedly given out at the Parks and Resorts section, after all, and the Imagineers are Disney's team who design their attractions. So it seems almost certain this is for some sort of Disney theme park attraction, based on a Marvel comic. But what is it? And what's with the "Weird" description and the horror-evoking imagery on the poster?
Still much to ponder here...
