In addition to the Surface Pro 2, today Microsoft officially unveiled the Surface 2, the successor to last year's Surface RT tablet. The new Windows RT tablet is equipped with a full HD display, up from the Surface RT's 1366 x 768 screen, and will be now offered in white.
Powered by Nvidia's Tegra 4 processor, Microsoft claims the Surface 2 is three to four times faster than the original, while still providing a 25 percent increase to battery life. The Surface 2 is also lighter and thinner than its predecessor. As expected, the new device will ship with Windows 8.1 RT, and Microsoft will include the full Office Suite.
The Microsoft Surface 2 will be available in 32GB and 64GB configurations, with pricing starting at $449. Pre-orders for the Surface 2 will start on September 24th through Microsoft's online and physical stores, and Best Buy in the United States and Canada.
