Archie Comics is gearing up to go live-action with a new movie from Warner Bros., but could it also be entering the land of the dead?
Deadline reports that Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) will direct a script from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, Glee) that will be based on the famed comics featuring Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica.
The site adds that earlier this year Aguirre-Sacasa signed on to write a new line of Archie Comics that, weirdly enough, introduces zombies into that wholesome world. This doesn't mean that zombies will actually be featured in the live-action movie, though Deadline speculates that the undead could somehow show up in the film.
We'll see. The zombie aspect of the movie is pure speculation at this point, though really… how else do you get people to go see an Archie movie these days, if not by adding the living dead?
