Actor Jim Carrey took to Twitter on Sunday to denounce the violence of his upcoming movie Kick-Ass 2, wherein he plays the costumed vigilante Colonel Stars and Stripes.
"I did Kickass a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence," tweeted Carrey.
He added, "(My) apologies to others involve with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart."
Kick-Ass 2 opens August 16.
