Livingstone: Nintendo Games Should be on All Platforms

Ian Livingstone has stated that Nintendo should take its games to "every platform", or risk losing a generation of gamers.

Speaking at Bristol Games Hub (via Pocketgamer), the Eidos life president argued that the company should be strengthening franchises rather than its own platforms if it wanted to have a healthy future.

"Nintendo should have their IP on every platform," he said. "Otherwise a whole generation of young people will miss out on their games."

While there's been talk in the past of getting Nintendo games onto mobiles and tablets, the company has never seemed particularly enamoured with the idea of shafting its in-house hardware team. A recent rumour did suggest, however, that the company may be keen to get mobile developers working on creating titles for the Wii U.

What do you think? Should Nintendo be moving its franchises onto other platforms, or would this be a bad move for the company? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
