A new Castlevania game was teased at Comic-Con, alongside the announcement that it would not be developed by MercurySteam, the team behind Lords of Shadow, Mirror of Fate, and the upcoming Lords of Shadow 2.
During a roundtable interview attended by GameSpot, Castlevania producer David Cox remarked about certain mistakes made during previous installments in the series, and how Konami intends on fixing them in the future.
"We have to really plan differently and do things differently. And we've made mistakes on this one, as well, which we're going to hopefully improve for the next one," Cox said. "I think it's a learning process and I think game developers are learning every day how to do things better."
In regards to MercurySteam's upcoming departure from the series, Cox remarked, "I think it's time for somebody else; somebody younger, a younger producer to come in and take up the mantle and do what they think would be right for Castlevania and for us to move on to something else."
We saw Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 a few weeks ago, and came back impressed. Stick around for more coverage leading up to its release later this year.
