LittleBigPlanet originally came to PlayStation 3 in 2008, putting developer Media Molecule on the map and creating one of the console’s most well-known exclusive series (as well as one of its mascots, Sackboy). This led to a sequel – LittleBigPlanet 2 – as well as Sony’s acquisition of the developer.
With rumors swirling about LittleBigPlanet 3 and Media Molecule’s Tearaway right around the corner, the word from Sony is that a staggering eight million user-created levels have been crafted since the series’ inception.
The PS Blog post isn’t explicit, but the assumption is that this number is limited to LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2, and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita -- since they are all connected -- and doesn’t account for LittleBigPlanet on PSP or LittleBigPlanet Karting.
Are you a part of LittleBigPlanet’s still-thriving community? Are you looking forward to a possible third iteration in the series?
