Best-Selling Comics of August 2013

The numbers are in for direct market sales of August 2013, where Marvel raked in 33.70% dollar share and 36.30% unit share compared to DC's 30.16% and 33.14%.

However, comic sales were down about 15% from last month and 10% from August 2012, and those percentages are even higher for trade paperback/graphic novels. That said, overall comic sales of the year to date are still higher than last year.

The top ten best-selling comics of August 2013 are:

  2. Superman Unchained #3 (DC)
  3. Batman #23 (DC)
  4. Justice League #23 (DC)
  5. Justice League of America #37 (DC)
  6. Batman/Superman #3 (DC)
  7. Superior Spider-Man #15 (Marvel)
  8. Superior Spider-Man #16 (Marvel)
  9. The Avengers #18 (Marvel)
  10. All-New X-Men #15 (Marvel)

And the top ten best-selling trades/OGNs are:

  1. The Walking Dead Vol. 1 TPB (Image)
  2. Chew Vol. 7 TPB (Image)
  3. Rocket Raccoon: Tales from the Half World TPB (Marvel)
  4. Saga Vol. 1 TPB (Image)
  5. Saga Vol. 2 TPB (Image)
