An Early Look at FF XIV: A Realm Reborn’s Dungeons

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is an oddity in the gaming world; an overhauled version of an MMO that already launched in 2010 and failed. Scheduled to go live sometime in 2013 for PC and PlayStation 3, A Realm Reborn is currently in alpha testing.

Square Enix showed off a little bit of an instanced dungeon run with a short, recently released video. In it, you can check out the new visuals and interface as well as the rhythm of combat, which appears to be quite a bit faster than in the original Final Fantasy XIV.

We haven’t had a chance to play this version of the game just yet, but at least from what’s been shown so far, A Realm Reborn at least looks better than the game it’s replacing, mainly because the framerate isn’t regularly dropping under twenty.
