Kickstarter backers of the Ouya console should start receiving their little boxes in the next week. But maybe the simple chrome exterior isn't unique enough for you. Maybe you need an Android console with a personal touch. According to Engadget, the Ouya team has partnered with desktop 3D printing visionary MakerBot to help Ouya owners print custom Ouya shells.
Optimized for the MakerBot Replicator 2 3D printer, Ouya owners can actually print out their try own custom casing for the console. The 3D model is available through MakerBot's Thingiverse online resource.
Of course, you may not have a desktop 3D printer laying around. But if you do, this is kind of a cool idea. And if you don't have an Ouya, well -- it should make for an interesting tub to hold your pencils, or something.
