Grand Theft Auto ‘Stories’ Games PS3-Bound

With all three core Grand Theft Auto games from the PlayStation 2 era already available on PlayStation Network, it’s no surprise that Rockstar has revealed that the PSP-turned-PS2 Grand Theft Auto spin-off games will also be coming.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (released on PSP in 2005 and PS2 in 2006) and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (released on PSP in 2006 and PS2 in 2007) will come to the PlayStation Network as PS2 Classics this Tuesday, April 2nd in North America and on Wednesday, April 3rd in Europe. They will cost $9.99 (or €9.99/£7.99) each.

Both Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories were major commercial successes for Rockstar, and they did pretty well critically, too. They acted as a nice stopgap for Grand Theft Auto fans waiting for GTAIV following the release of San Andreas, so perhaps Rockstar is trying the same thing as we wait for Grand Theft Auto V’s release this fall.
