Game Debuts

Final Fantasy V – ($15.99)

Square Enix continues to bring classic Final Fantasy installments to iOS, and V is the latest to arrive. This is another of the series' games that we didn't originally get a localization of in America 20 years ago, though it's been made available a few times since then. This version compiles all the extras that have been added over the decades, including bonus jobs for each character. Take a look:

Annihilate – ($0.99)

An abstract dual-stick shooter with tons of pixel-packed explosions, Annihilate is what Asteroids might have looked like in players' imaginations 30 years ago.

Magicka: Wizards of the Square Tablet – ($1.99)

Join up with three friends and cast some customized spells in this co-op, wizard-based magical brawler.

Dungeon Hearts – ($2.99)

A wicked fusion of match-three puzzling, dungeon-crawling and Guitar Hero, Dungeon Hearts demands a minute of your attention for a trailer viewing here:

Runaway: A Twist of Fate – Part 1 – ($4.99)

The beginning of another episodic series – iOS gamers aren't spoiled for these any more.

Fester Mudd: Curse of the Gold – Episode 1 – ($0.99)

See, what did I tell you? Not one, but two new point-and-click adventures are launching their first episodes today. It's a good time to be a fan of the genre.

Tiny Troopers 2: Special Ops – ($0.99)

The original Tiny Troopers was a huge success for Chillingo, and it looks like this sequel starring the same small soldiers is packed with more big action:

Quantum Legacy HD Turbo – ($0.99)

Set to be normally priced at $1.99, you can grab this 3D space shooter for half off if you move fast enough to catch its launch day sale.

Nimble Quest – (Freemium)

The makers of Tiny Tower present a pixel-powered freemium fantasy quest.

Ms. 'Splosion Man – ($2.99)

Microsoft continues to sneak some of its games into Apple's store, the latest being Xbox Live Arcade platforming hit Ms. 'Splosion Man.

Huge EA Sale!

Bejeweled HD – ($0.99)

The massive Electronic Arts sale we talked about yesterday is still going strong today, so check out things like Dead Space, Mass Effect and more for 99-cent deals. EA now also encorporates PopCap Games, too, so today's highlight is going to be Bejeweled HD.

Updates

Danmaku Unlimited 2 – ($0.99)

Finally, we'll close out today's update with an update for Danmaku Unlimited 2. This intense bullet-hell shmup has revised with a new transparency option for in-games prizes, a bug fix for the level-up results screens and GameDock support.

That’s it for today! Email subscriptions to the App Store Update are still just one sign-up away, right here:
