Marvel Announces Once Upon a Time Graphic Novel

Marvel Entertainment has teamed up with Disney-ABC Television Group for Once Upon a Time: Shadow of the Queen, an all-new original graphic novel based on the popular TV series.

Plotted by series writer and co-producer Dan Thomsen, and co-written by Corinna Bechko (Planet of The Apes, Star Wars: Legacy), this upcoming release fits into the official continuity of Once Upon a Time and features artwork from Nimit Malavia, Vasilis Lolos, Mike Del Mundo, Stephanie Hans, and Mike Henderson.

In Shadow of the Queen, the Evil Queen has, quite literally, captured the Huntsman's heart. Using the Huntsman to do her bidding, Regina devises yet another devious plan to capture Snow White, while the Huntsman comes face-to-face with his past -- including an independent spirit in Red Riding Hood. The graphic novel marks the first comic book tie-in to the ABC television series.

"Shadow of the Queen will bring fans a whole new thread of the intriguing backstory between Regina and the Huntsman -- in a uniquely Marvel way," said Adam Sanderson, SVP Franchise Management for Disney-ABC. "We hope this brand extension will further deepen the engagement our viewers have with one of ABC's signature series."

Once Upon a Time: Shadow of the Queen will be available in print and digital download on September 4.
