Cult: Skye Confronts Her Demons

In this week's episode of Cult, "The Good Fight," crusading show researcher Skye falls into a hallucinogenic coma thanks to a mystery drug that was slipped to her at last week's Cult fan party. And inside her mind, things take a turn for the weird as all the events she's been experiencing since the premiere, plus shapes from her haunted past, get turned up to "11."

I spoke to star Jessica Lucas on the Vancouver set of Cult while she filmed this episode last fall and asked her to preview as much as she could about it. "Skye's in a dream and she's dealing with a lot of her demons," the actress shared. "Her father and Billy and Kelly all represent different fears of hers and she gets to relate to them in a really interesting way that's very emotional."

And while the dream-like events in "The Good Fight" aren't meant to be taken literally, they do offer keys into Skye's psyche. "This episode was a lot of fun for me to play because it was the first time we get to delve into Skye's past," Lucas said. "I think during the first five episodes we were really still on this drive to find Nate and that's where Jeff and Skye are. You find out bits and pieces about Skye throughout the episodes, little teases here and there, but this is the first episode where they really fully address where she's coming from. It can all get confusing at times, but that's the point. In her mind, things keep appearing and disappearing."

As for her trust in Jeff, that's been taken care of. They're a solid team now. "As far as trusting goes, I think we crossed that bridge," she said. "There was a scene that happned back in episode 2 where Skye explains more of the reason of why she's there and why she's fully on Jeff's side and I think from that moment on it's their bonding point."

Cult: "The Good Fight" airs Friday, March 29th at 9/8c on The CW.
