As we learned earlier this summer, Daniel Craig will return for the upcoming 24th installment of the James Bond series. Still, we don't know much about the film yet. After last year's Skyfall, some fans wondered if Bond 24 would go back to its roots and frame the story around past entries in the franchise. (Some spoilers follow for Skyfall.)
After all, with the reintroduction of classic characters like Moneypenny, Q, and even a male M, Craig's Bond has certainly begun to enter familiar territory.
In a recent interview with Vulture, Craig described the tone of Bond 24, which he said would likely avoid some of the series' older, campier trappings. "Hopefully we'll reclaim some of the old irony," Craig said, "and make sure it doesn’t become pastiche. I can't do shtick, I'm not very good at it. Unless it kind of suddenly makes sense. Does that make sense? I sometimes wish I hammed it up more, but I just can't do it very well, so I don't do it."
James Bond 24 is currently slated for a November 2015 release.
