Syfy Pulls Haven School Violence Episode in Wake of Newtown, Connecticut’s Tragic Shooting

As most likely know, early this morning, a gunman opened fire at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut tragically killing 26 people, including 20 small children.

The nation is still reeling with shock and grief.

Out of respect for those affected by this horrific event, Syfy has chosen to pull Friday’s episode of the supernatural drama Haven, which featured a high school violence storyline.

“Tonight’s scheduled 10 p.m. episode of Haven contained scenes of fictitious violence in a high school. In light of today’s tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, we have decided not to air it,”  Syfy announced in a statement. “At this time, no decision has been made as to when the episode will air.”

The network will air a repeat of Eureka in place of the scheduled Haven episode.
