App Store Update: January 11

Every day hundreds of new apps make their debut on the App Store, and hundreds more are updated or reduced in price. We have sifted through the noise and highlighted those select few that might be worth your attention.

Video Walkthrough

Cut the Rope – ($0.99)

Doing something a little different with today’s ASU, as we want to first and foremost call your attention to the brand-new video walkthrough series we’ve just produced for Cut the Rope. These videos cover the new Steam Box levels that just went live with the game’s latest update, so give them a look and ensure that Om Nom gets that candy delivered to his waiting mouth with no further delay.

Price Drops

The Great Fusion – (Free)

A first free option for your weekend enjoyment, The Great Fusion is a science-fiction graphic adventure set in the not-too-distant future.

Crumble Zone – (Free)

Cause comet-crashing chaos in outer space. Also for free!

Bad Piggies HD – ($0.99)

In case you missed the awards a few weeks ago, Rovio’s Bad Piggies was our pick for the 2012 Mobile Game of the Year. Seriously, this vehicle-building, creativity-inspiring big pig adventure needs to be downloaded on your iPad if it isn’t already. And Rovio’s made that easier today, because the price has been dropped down to 99 cents.

Updates

Angry Birds Space – ($0.99)

Rovio’s also making a splash with Version 1.4 going live for Angry Birds Space. This latest update brings the space hero birds to a water planet for some aquatic adventuring. We’ve also got a guide video series for these new levels already available, too, so don’t miss them!

That’s it for this week! The New Year is still young, so make a New Year’s resolution to not miss a single ASU all year – and help yourself succeed by subscribing to the App Store Update via email.
