THQ has announced the second downloadable content pack for Darksiders II, The Abyssal Forge. Set to arrive on October 30th for all platforms (October 31st on PSN in Europe), Abyssal Forge will be available for $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points) and adds a new swamp-like environment called the Shadow Lands in addition to new dungeons, new enemies, new legendary loot and more.
“The Abyssal Forge is a living machine designed to harness the unfocussed dark power of the Abyss and create the most powerful legendary weapons,” THQ explains. “The Maker who built this abomination, known only as the Mad Smith, was shunned by his own people and sealed away in the Shadow Lands with his creation. However, the forge hasn’t remained dormant all those years of captivity; it has constructed a vast army and now threatens all creation.”
The Shadow Lands will include two new dungeons and is “tailored towards the most competent Darksiders II players” with “the hardest enemies and puzzles yet.”
Darksiders II was released in August and will next hit Wii U on November 18th. Look out for video of the Abyssal Forge expansion on IGN very soon, but until then you can read our hands-on impressions of the Wii U version and our Darksiders II wiki guide.
