Idris Elba – the tough-talking star of Pacific Rim, Prometheus and Thor – has revealed, albeit indirectly, that he’d like a role in the forthcoming Inbetweeners sequel.
The revelation came during the Empire podcast, when Anthony Head – who played Will’s Dad in the original movie – mentioned that he’d spoke to the artist currently known as Luther about the film.
“I was at a gig with Idris Elba recently and he says he’ll do anything in it,” he explained. “He said he’d do a walk-on so I’ve got to email them and say ‘Idris Elba wants to be in it!’”
There’s no word yet as to what The Inbetweeners 2 will be about, with rumours circulating that the sequel might follow the boys to university, or alternatively revolve around their heading to Australia.
So would you like to see Idris joining the comedy ensemble? Aside from a stint in The Office he hasn’t done a huge amount of comedy, though Elba did make us laugh when taking IGN’s Pacific Rim Robot Quiz…
