Three-Minute Review: Infect Them All 2: Zombies

Infect Them All 2: Zombies is out now. Watch the first 10 minutes of gameplay to make up your own mind, or read on for our snap judgment.

Three-Minute Review

  • This is is like a more action-oriented, less-polished version of Infectonator. You run through each arena, turning helpless humans into zombies one at a time. Once someone is infected, they'll help you attack the remaining living, allowing the virus to quickly spread once it reaches a tipping point.
  • Players earn money between missions that can be spent to power up your speed, attack power, special abilities and more. Your zombie minions can also be upgraded.
  • Movement is handled via a virtual analog stick, or tilt controls. Wouldn't tap-to-move make more sense?
  • It looks and feels very similar to Infect Them All: Vampires and all of Magic Cube's other 'Infect' games.
  • There's lots of variety. Many playable characters, mission types, enemy types and more keep the gameplay evolving.
  • The game doesn't feel very balanced. I breezed through dozens of missions - my over-powered minions did all the work. Suddenly the difficulty ramped up to 11 and I can't seem to progress without grinding.

Snap Judgment

Infect Them All 2: Zombies is fun for a while... until the iffy controls wear on you, and you retry a level for the 10th time. It isn't bad, but it lacks the polish or originality to be anything more than just okay. Grab it if you've exhausted Infectonator. Otherwise download that instead.
