Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone, Crosswords Plus Now on 3DS

Nintendo has released Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone and Crosswords Plus for 3DS. Both games are available now for $29.99 in stores or via the eShop, and players who download either game and will receive a free copy of Donkey Kong: Original Edition if they register on Club Nintendo before January 6, 2013. Donkey Kong: Original Edition offers “content never before seen in the U.S.” and isn’t available for purchase separately.

Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone lets players learn to paint and draw by following 30 lessons from an in-game tutor. Materials available include paints, pastels, sketch pencils and colored pencils, and players can pause lessons to complete them later. Players can also use Free Paint mode to make whatever they want or use the system’s camera to include photographs in their artwork. Additional lessons will be available for purchase as downloadable content, with two packs available at launch and more coming in the future.

Crosswords Plus offers more than 1,000 crossword puzzles and lets players use the touch screen to input answers. The game offers a Word of the Day feature for vocabulary building and lets players access additional puzzles via SpotPass, or get exclusive puzzles from Nintendo Zone locations. Players can also share puzzles with each other via StreetPass.

Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone was first announced in June during a Nintendo Direct conference and follows Art Academy on Nintendo DS as well as Art Academy: First Semester and Art Academy: Second Semester, both released as DSiWare.
