Sports game developer Vivid Games has today announced that its next title, Real Boxing, will be released this August on PSN.
Built in the Unreal Engine 3 and utilizing controls that take advantage of the Vita’s physical and touch capabilities, Real Boxing aims to be one of the “most comprehensive” sporting games in the handheld gaming world. Players will be able to see their boxer through single, career, and training modes, with slow-motion replays helping you to relive the most dramatic moments in the ring.
Every fighter featured in-game has been meticulously motion-captured, and deformation technology promises to render each swing of the fist in bone-crunching detail. Customization options will also be available, allowing you to decorate your boxer in a variety of haircuts and clothing styles.
“Real Boxing is as close as you can get to the real sport without lacing up a pair of gloves and getting into the ring,” promises Remi Koscielny, Vivid Games CEO. You can read IGN's review of the mobile version (trailer above) of Real Boxing now.
