Resident Evil: Retribution actress Li Binbing, who played fan favorite Ada Wong in the film, has joined the cast of director Michael Bay's Transformers 4.
According to The Hollywood Reporter (via Chinese site m1905.com), Li Binbing is just the first of what's expected to be several Chinese actors to be cast in the film, in addition to those performers recruited from a much publicized reality show.
"With the involvement of financiers and actors from China as well as promises of having parts of the film set and shot in the country, the film is designed to qualify as a Sino-U.S. co-production – which allows the movie to circumvent the Chinese import quota and also take a bigger proportion of box office earnings in what is now the second-biggest source of box office revenue in the world," said THR.
Transformers 4 is slated for release June 27, 2014.
