Marvel Studios is reportedly eying a pair of big name comedy stars for Guardians of the Galaxy.
According to Latino-Review, Marvel is said to be checking the availability of Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler. The site's unsure which roles Carrey and Sandler might be under consideration for, but it's possible it could be voice-over roles such as Rocket Raccoon or Groot.
Carrey's certainly no stranger to comic book movies having starred in Batman Forever, The Mask and the upcoming Kick-Ass 2.
Furthermore, Latino-Review claims that three other actors have read for the lead role of Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord: Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games, Ghost Rider), Cam Gigandet (Priest, Twilight), and Chris Lowell (Veronica Mars, The Help).
The site stresses that the three actors only read for the role and that no offers have been made to them.
