How Much Will Disney Infinity Cost?

If the first thing you thought when you saw Disney Infinity unveiled earlier this week was "that looks expensive," you're not alone. Disney has now released full pricing details for the starter pack that will be available at launch, as well as the figures and play sets.

The starter pack includes three figures: Jack Sparrow, Sulley, and Mr Incredible. It also includes Monsters Inc, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Incredibles play sets, which translate to levels in the game. There's also an Infinity Base, the NFC device that translates the bits of plastic into the game. It will retail at $75 in the US and £64.99 in the UK (it's slightly cheaper on Wii and 3DS at £54.99 in the UK).

Individual figures, of which there will be 20 available at launch, will retail at $29.99 for three or $12.99 each. The Power Discs, which give characters special moves, will come in packs for $4.99.

A date of June 28th has been given for the UK launch, so a 25th June US launch date seems likely.

It's a heck of a money-spinner, then, but not out of line with Skylanders' pricing, or other comparable toys.

Keza MacDonald is in charge of IGN's games coverage in the UK and has huge weaknesses for both Disney and plastic stuff. She fears for her wallet come June. You can follow her on IGN and Twitter.
